Advancement of Women
This quote came from a leader of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints
"In the initial meetings of Relief Society, the Prophet Joseph Smith taught that the society 'is not only to relieve the poor, but to save souls.' (Minutes, 9 June 1842, p. 63; History of the Church, 5:25.) A later First Presidency explained: 'One of the purposes of the organization of the Relief Society was that a system might be inaugurated by which study of religious subjects, or Church doctrine and government, might be pursued by women. The administration of charity under the direction of the Bishopric . . . was to be part of their active work. But this was not intended to absorb their activities to the exclusion of the development of faith, and the advancement of women in literary, social and domestic activities of life.' (James R. Clark, comp., Messages of the First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 6 vols., Salt Lake City: Bookcraft, 1965–75, 5:217.)"

This was pointed out to me that this poem is by someone else. I forgot to mention that, I don't know who it's by, but I did not write this. I received it a few years ago and forget to give credit to whoever wrote this.
The One Flaw In Women
By the time the Lord made woman,
He was into his sixth day of working overtime.
An angel appeared and said,
"Why are you spending so much time on this one?"
And the Lord answered, "Have you seen my spec sheet on her?
She has to be completely washable, but not plastic,
have over 200 movable parts, all replaceable
and able to run on diet coke and leftovers,
have a lap that can hold four children at one time,
have a kiss that can cure anything from a scraped knee to a broken heart
-and she will do everything
with only two hands."
The angel was astounded at the requirements.
"Only two hands!? No way!
And that's just on the standard model?
That's too much work for one day.
Wait until tomorrow to finish."
"But I won't," the Lord protested.
"I am so close to finishing this creation that is so close to my
own heart.
She already heals herself when she is sick
AND can work 18 hour days."
The angel moved closer and touched the woman.
"But you have made her so soft, Lord."
"She is soft," the Lord agreed,
"but I have also made her tough.
You have no idea what she can endure or accomplish."
"Will she be able to think?", asked the angel.
The Lord replied,
"Not only will she be able to think,
she will be able to reason and negotiate."
The angel then noticed something,
and reaching out, touched the woman's cheek.
"Oops, it looks like you have a leak in this model.
I told you that you were trying to put too much into this one."
"That's not a leak,"
the Lord corrected,
"that's a tear!"
"What's the tear for?" the angel asked.
The Lord said, "The tear is her way of expressing her joy,
her sorrow, her pain, her disappointment, her love,
her loneliness, her grief and her pride."
The angel was impressed.
"You are a genius, Lord.
You thought of everything!
Woman is truly amazing."
And she is!
Women have strengths that amaze men.
They bear hardships and they carry burdens,
but they hold happiness,
love and joy.
They smile when they want to scream.
They sing when they want to cry.
They cry when they are happy
and laugh when they are nervous.
They fight for what they believe in.
They stand up to injustice.
They don't take "no" for an answer
when they believe there is a better solution.
They go without so their family can have.
They go to the doctor with a frightened friend.
They love unconditionally.
They cry when their children excel
and cheer when their friends get awards.
They are happy when they hear about
a birth or a wedding.
Their hearts break when a friend dies.
They grieve at the loss of a family member,
yet they are strong when they think there is no strength left.
They know that a hug and a kiss
can heal a broken heart.
Women come in all shapes, sizes and colors.
They'll drive, fly, walk, run or e-mail you
to show how much they care about you.
The heart of a woman is what makes the world keep turning.
They bring joy, hope and love.
They have compassion and ideals.
They give moral support to their family and friends.
Women have vital things to say and everything to give .
HOWEVER, IF THERE IS ONE FLAW IN WOMEN,
IT IS THAT THEY FORGET THEIR WORTH
The Stars
In every play, movie, or story there are numerous characters in various roles.
Life is like a movie. There are the main actors or actresses. There are supporting actors, those actors who you see once or twice in the show, and a whole backstage crew.
In our personal lives we are the main actors or actresses. Our friends and other people we meet are the supporting actors or those actors that show up once or twice. And our family or close friends are the backstage crew members.
But in our public, social lives things are different. Usually the men are seen as the main characters of society, because they are the ones working and providing for their families. On the other hand women are seen more as the back stage crew, and they are treated that way.
I think they are the back stage crew, because they have the responsibility to raise our children. But that does not mean that’s all their good for. That doesn’t mean they should be pushed around or used in a way that only benefits men.
If they are part of the back stage crew, they should be treated as such. In a high school play the back stage members usually do a lot of work and most get recognized for their hard work. We as a society should start recognizing the hard work that the back stage members put in.
They have some of the hardest jobs around and should get the honor and recognition they deserve.
As Sisters in Zion
Lucy Mack Smith, mother of the Prophet, in speaking to the sisters in Nauvoo, said “We must cherish one another, and watch over one another, and gain instruction that we may all sit down in heaven together” (Minutes, 24 March 1842). The history of Relief Society has shown that women of the Church have not had to wait to sit together in heaven to taste the sweet fruit of the kind of activities she described. They have experienced much of heaven on earth as in life they have cherished one another, comforted one another, and instructed one another.

Daughters in Zion
Put on thy beautiful garments, O daughters of Zion. Live up to the great and magnificent inheritance which the Lord God, your Father in Heaven, has provided you. Rise above the dust of the world. Know that you are daughters of God, children with a divine birthright. Walk in the sun with your heads high. Know that you are loved and honored, that you are part of His kingdom, and that there is for you a great work to be done which cannot be left to others- President Hinckley
Sorry I'm thinking about girls and their role in our lives, and the strength they can bring to us. Thats why I'm putting these quotes up.
A Daughter of God
Of all the creations of the Almighty, there is none more beautiful, none more inspiring than a lovely daughter of God who walks in virtue, with an understanding of why she should do so, who honors and respects her body as a thing sacred and divine, who cultivates her mind and constantly enlarges the horizon of her understanding, who nurtures her spirit with everlasting truth.- by President Hinckley.
This is a true woman, but it also states how we as men need to treat women
Rise to your potential
This is by President Hinckley of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints
I feel to invite every woman everywhere to rise to the great potential within you. I do not ask that you reach beyond your capacity. I hope you will not nag yourselves with thoughts of failure. I hope you will not try to set goals far beyond your capacity to achieve. I hope you will be simply do what you can do in the best way you know. If you do so, you will witness miracles come to pass.
Girls 1
Its time to have fun!!
Its time to talk about girls.
In today's world we tend to send out the message that girls are objects and meant to show off their bodies for the pleasure of a few boys. This is not true.
Yes, girls are physically cute and they were meant to be that way, but they are more then that. The fact is that girls are made up of a lot of things. We all know the "sugar and spice and everything nice that's what little girls are made of".
But, what about other attributes? What about kindness, charity, compassion, brains. gratitude, service, selflessness, and many more.
As you all know from reading my post on trials, I am disabled. In elementary school I was afraid of getting hurt, and because the boys played football and other sports during recess, I would hang out with a group of girls. I learned quickly that girls are more compassionate and kind than boys.
Not that boys aren't compassionate but the girls don't seem to be afraid to show that compassion. I decided that that was an attribute I wanted.
Girls in today's world are told their weak just because boys are physically stronger, they are told they have to look a certain way to be noticed, and they are pressured into doing that. This is not true.
Boys and girls are different. Back in elementary school I thought of it this way "Boys are physically stronger, but girls are spiritually stronger". In my opinion if a girl is herself, if she stands up for what she believes in, if she doesn't let go of her standards no matter what, and if she is a good friend to those around her, she will be one of the strongest most talented persons around!
In the end it's not your physical strength, but your spiritually strength that matters.
Girls 2
Girls are beautiful, bright, brilliant creatures, and they should to think like that.
In today's world girls are given so many messages about how they should look, think, and feel. Today I want to discuss how they should think.
Girls get a lot of mixed messages, some people tell them to study and work hard, others tell them they just need to look good and that brains don't matter, and some give other messages.
The fact is that if we are all children of God and I believe we are, if that's true then we all deserve an equal chance. I'm not a parent, but the rumor is that parents love each of their kids equally, they don't have any favoritism.
Parents want each of their kids to have an equal chance at everything. Why wouldn't Our Heavenly Father want the same for us? Why would He allow only His sons to learn and grow in this world and not His daughters?
What this all means is that every girl no mater where she is or what she's doing deserves a fare chance. This means that one as boys we need to allow girls to grow by believing in them and encouraging them. But, more importantly it means that girls need to believe in themselves, they need to understand how they are and what their potential is. They need to realize what they can truly do and never give up until they get it.
Once you master the mind, you can master the world. You can master whatever you come up against!
Girls 3
Girls are naturally more spiritually in tune than boys.
In society, the message is sent out is that it's bad or unpopular to act that way. The message that's binging sent around right now is that it's cool to cheat and lie, it's OK not listen to your parents or those around you. Basically the message is it's cool to live dangerously.
As boys and girls we need to be aware of this and what we can do to fix this problem. By remembering how they are and what their potential is, by receiving encouragement and support from us boys, girls can make a huge difference in this area.
Girls were given the divine attributes of, compassion, kindness, gentleness, caring, and much more. But if we as boys convince them that they don't need to use these attributes, or if they convince themselves they don't need those attributes, those attributes won't do them any good.
We were all given gifts and attributes that we can use to affect the world in someway. If girls knew how much of a difference they could make by simply caring for those around them, and if we as boys would encourage and honor those attributes, we could all make a bigger positive difference in the world.
Our perception is how your perceived.
