Travelors Gift
Recently, I just read the Traveler's Gift by Andy Andrews.
It is a great book, one of the best I've read. It is about this man named David. David is a typical person, who is discharged with his life. The book begins right after he lost his job.
And continues to the next few months where he finds a part-time job and looses that job. His wife went back to work and his daughter, his only child needs an operation right away. One night on his way home he starts thinking about suicide.
As he crashes into a tree, he starts dreaming and through varies meanings (you’ll have to read to find out how) he discovers that life is what he makes it to be. He learns that he can choose to be happy and do the best he can or he can choose to blame others and be miserable.
The Traveler’s Gift is one of my favorite books, once you pick it up you won’t be able to put it down. The Traveler’s Gift gave me strength in a way I can’t describe. I would suggest reading the traveler’s Gift.
Rework by Jason Fried & David Heinemeier Hansson
REWORK is a different kind of book. It is geared towards a business audience. But like most books it can be applied to other aspects in life.
The main idea of REWORK is to rethink the way you run your company. The ideas in the book are very common sense and I agree with a lot of it.
For example, there is a page or two that talks about “Making a dent in the universe”. From the business aspect it is referring to doing something unique that people will remember. But from the strength point of view, it refers to making a difference in your life and someone else’s.
Overall REWORK is a great book. It gave me strength and can give you strength.
